One year against defects in materials and workmanship
If a panel arrives or turns out wrong because of how we made it, we replace it free — you pay nothing, including shipping. That covers:
- Slots that don't fit together properly
- Plate that arrives warped or out of spec
- Cutting errors, incomplete cuts, or missed deburring
- Structural failure under normal use
Rust is not a defect
These panels are 1/8″ A36 carbon steel — not weathering steel and not stainless. Left outside, they will rust. That's the material behaving exactly as it should, and it's why the steel darkens and seasons the way cast iron does.
Store the panels dry between burns and wipe them with a light coat of cooking oil if you want to slow it down. Rust of any degree is never covered by this warranty.
Also not covered
- Discolouration, scaling, or bluing from heat — normal and permanent
- Warping from extreme or sustained heat beyond normal wood fires
- Damage from accelerants, or from fuels other than dry firewood and charcoal
- Damage from burning trash, treated lumber, or construction debris
- Damage from modification: drilling, welding, cutting, grinding, or painting
- Damage from improper storage, transport, or dropping
- Normal wear from use
- Anything resulting from use contrary to our Safety Notice
Making a claim
Email team@packablepits.com with your order number and clear photos. We answer our own email. If it's our fault, we fix it without an argument.
This warranty applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable. Our maximum liability under this warranty is the purchase price of the panels you bought.
